Traineeship - Quantitative Analysis - 3-6 months - Luxembourg





We are looking for a trainee to provide support to the Funding and Investor Relations (IR) team and more specifically to help manage and develop further the Funding Data Warehouse, ensure data quality, and analyse data. The selected person will be guided by a Senior Quantitative Analyst and report to the Head of Funding and IR.

The European Stability Mechanism (“ESM”) is the permanent crisis resolution mechanism for euro area countries. It provides financial assistance to Members facing financing problems, and issues debt instruments to fund this financial support.

The ESM is a unique place to work with around 175 individuals committed to making a difference to the future of the euro area. It recruits talented professionals from every nationality from both the private and public sector.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

To provide assistance to the Funding and Investor Relations (IR) team, with a particular focus on the following tasks:
  • Help further develop the Funding data warehouse, including designing, testing, and documenting
  • Participate to the collection, processing, and reporting of secondary market data. Help further develop analytics tools in Matlab
  • Perform research tasks and run ad hoc analyses as needed
  • Support the generation of issuance statistics
  • Support the preparation of statistics for Market Group management
KEY BACKGROUND
  • Advanced studies or University degree in informatics, mathematics, statistics, quantitative finance, or similar
  • Good programming skills, ideally Visual Basic and Matlab
  • Basic database knowledge, ideally Microsoft Access
  • Fluency in English, other languages considered an asset
