Senior credit risk analyst needed for global investment bank in Sydney, Australia, 90,000–95,000 AUD


Background:
The bank is currently seeking an experienced analyst to work within the Group's internal risk management advisory and oversight team, Capital Management. 
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders and develop a reputation within the group as a ‘trusted advisor'.
You will also have some flexibility in setting the direction of your work.

The Credit Department is the credit custodian of the Group working closely and engaging in ongoing dialogue with senior management and deal teams across all business units to identify relevant credit issues. Central to the Credit Departments operational model is to partner with our businesses on transactions as they arise and, where warranted, work as an extension of the deal team.

Responsibilities:
-Development and implementation of risk measurement models and systems,
-Financial modelling and model validation,
-Assisting with the development or review of proposals for strategic new business initiatives. These may include evaluation of new products, geographies, divestment or acquisition opportunities, and portfolio management strategies,
-Improvements to credit risk management processes,
-Improvements to management reporting, including use of business intelligence tools,
-Ensuring businesses are adequately provisioned and make effective use of capital,
-Advising and educating key business individuals at all levels to foster a culture of risk-based decision making.

Ideal Profile:
-Relevant tertiary qualifications in a business-related or quantitative subject (e.g. Finance, Business Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial),
-a good understanding of risk management practices within the financial services industry,
-a sound working knowledge of financial modelling with a risk management perspective,
-the ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and team members,
-an analytical mind and strong problem solving skills,
-strong attention to detail and the ability to see multiple tasks through to completion,
-Initiative and a commercial approach.
